| | "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" by Stravinsky | ] | Thanks to all of you who came and saw our gig at the Underscore this last Saturday. Not too many people caught the show, but it was high octane and a lot of fun to play. Nice to have such a big stage and floor to cruise around on. It was also the first time Darren and Spencer played together!
I would like to know what fucking genius decided that myspace was going to be the new forum of networking and promotion for musicians. I have spent one hour this morning clicking the "save event" button over and over again, only to be returned with some non-specific error message and the state changed to "Alabama" from "New York".
BULLSHIT, my friends, BULLSHIT.
In any event, our big gig at Kenny's Castaways is coming up, so if you're in the area, please come out and show your support. We go on at 11 PM and it is going to be a phenomenal set. It's also being filmed and recorded, so we need all the screaming imaginable for our live video!
After this gig, and our Knitting Factory gig on the 8th, it's break time for the Missing Teens. I'm getting burnt out to a certain extent dealing with booking, scheduling rehearsals, etc., and I want to do some more recording and mixing. Dave Tirolo is providing more bass and we've got Roko's guitars on "Fernando and Louise" and "Playing Politics". All these things need to be added. Plus, I've been putting off mixing down some tunes for The Bosch for some time and it's time to finish that up, especially considering how ridiculously hot their new bassist is. I know that shouldn't be a factor in my musical professionalism. So sue me.
We'll likely be playing Amy Chace's birthday party, wherever that is... and hopefully Neill Livingston of the Force Theory will be providing some mixes, and - keeping my fingers crossed here - joining us on stage in coming months...
For now kids, I'm off to office land. Make sure to check out our real website sometime, as well as our Myspace page, which will be filled with more wacky bullshit doubtless soon.
Love-hate relationship, James |
